The Power of NOW
This book by Eckhart Tolle has opened my eyes and awakened the peace and stillness within me. Initially, I found the hardest thing to accept was that I didn’t have to DO anything…
… in fact, this book showed me that the more I searched “out there” to find fulfilment, the further away I actually was from it. No matter what we focus on from the past, or what we imagine about the future, our experience is ONLY ever in the NOW.
I’ve learnt about focusing on the “present” and about “being” right here and right now, in this moment. This immediately brings peace and relaxation and it’s great for stress relief. I’ve experienced “no mind” and “no time” and discovered the difference between ME and my EGO.
I’ve learnt that my mind (ego) wants attention just like a child. Unfortunately, the more we give attention to the mind, the more we lose awareness of who we really are and the more we can get lost in the world.
Have you ever felt like your losing control? Like someone or something else is steering your life? The answer to these questions is always “simple”, now it can also be “easy”.

The End of Suffering Through studying various works of inspirational teachers like Eckhart Tolle, I have found answers to questions about my “life’s purpose”.
Most people have heard of goal setting and achieving our “life purpose”. However, many people are not aware that we have an inner and outer purpose.
- Our outer purpose changes over time, our inner purpose is always the same
- Our outer purpose concerns “what we do”, our inner purpose concerns “how we do it”
- If we set a goal to read a book (secondary or outer purpose), then our primary or inner purpose is to bring conscious presence (awareness) into reading every word and turning every page
- Our inner purpose is all about our “state of consciousness” as we walk through our lives
Are we totally present and focused in everything that we do? Do we express the heart virtues of understanding, compassion, forgiveness, appreciation, humility and valor? - To lead a fulfilled life, our outer purpose should always be aligned with our inner purpose
- How do we choose our outer goal (purpose)?
Ask yourself a simple question… will this goal enrich not only my life, but those of others as well? How can we live our life to achieve our inner purpose?- Allow yourself to be “OK” with what’s happening “right now”
- That does not mean that you have to like it, or that you do nothing about it, just allow it to be “as it is” without fighting it
- Allow your feelings to become neutral - will it change your current situation to be upset about it?
- If you come into peace with “what is”, you’ll be in a much clearer space to take “right and appropriate action”
- You can then take constructive and supportive action that will to help your body with the healing process
Next Steps- Take steps to help your body heal, both physically and emotionally
- Focus on feelings from the heart like understanding, compassion and forgiveness
- Bring into completion any residual negative energies
- Use Qigong to open the flow of positive energy
- Take healthy supplements to boost the immune system
