Mayan Calendar
The Mayan Calendar has given me a greater understanding of the reason behind some of the major events in human history. It also provides some guidance for those things to occur over the coming years, giving some relief to the stress of the “unknown”.
The “calendar” is the centre of any civilisation because everything revolves around the calendar. All the events of our daily lives are measured against the agreed calendar in use at the time – birth, death, seasons, past, future.
In our civilisation it’s the Gregorian Calendar which was instituted in 1582 by Pope Gregory. This calendar tracks the physical movement of the Earth around the Sun and is based on a cycle of 365 1/4 days. The Mayan and other indigenous calendars are based universal or spiritual principles and are not confined to the physical movement of planets in time and space.
Our chosen calendar is a powerful tool that we use to determine the sequence and timing of events in our lives. It stands to reason then that the focus of our daily calendar will a have a profound impact on what we can achieve over the course of our lives.
By choosing a physical based calendar, science and religion have pinned our civilisations’ consciousness to physical evidence only and this has caused a steady erosion of things other than physical ie. the spiritual aspects of our life.
This is information is not designed to “change” your viewpoint, but rather to “expand” it with a wider view of the purpose and meaning of our lives.
Ian Xel Lungold has studied the Mayan Calendars (yes, there are more than one) over many years and his presentation looks at the specific cycles measured by the Mayan Calendars and how they relate to our history and our future. I hope that you feel drawn to this material as I was. I now have a much grander appreciation of our magnificent universe and a much calmer and settled outlook on life.
